Sunday Ramblings.

When contemplating yesterdays races as to use all 1 in 8 probable combos, the thought of a double hit went through my mind. Either third equal or second equal, even first equal would be good.

I don’t know if it was mind over matter or coincidence but,

Trenthem Race 5, First equal placing.

My initial stake was $33.60 for a return of $17.10 ($8.05 +$9.05)

Still a loss on investment.

This bet was utilising TAB’s new Fixed Odds on Exotics.

Will not be doing that again.

Racing in Gore today.

13/3/21

When developing and trialing my “Trifecta with a Twist” system, because of the threat from Favourites destroying a decent payout, I concluded that only a FOOL would utilise all Probable Combinations on one race.

Well, today, I became that FOOL!

Trenthem , Ellersley and The Valley, Australia.

Trenthem:

Race 1, 3 longshots to Win $1 each, 2 fails, 1 success = $12.00

Race 2, 2 longshots to Win $1 each, 1 fail, 1 refund

Race 3, 2 longshots to Win $1 each, both fails.

Next:

Two Trifectas with a twist but, going against my own rule, only a fool would bet using all one in eight probable combinations.

Race 5, 8 combinations culminating in 6, 48 sub combos and 2, 24 sub combos.

10% total Stake = $33.60

Result:

First equal on 2 combos for a return of $17.10 ($9.05 + $8.05)

Race 6, back to 1 combo at 10% Stake = $4.80, fail.

Ellersley:

Race 6, 8 probable combos at 10% =$33.60

All Bookies Favourites come in, in correct order.

Return = 0.60 cents

“FOOLS AND HORSES”

Race 7, back to 1 combo at 10% Stake = $4.80, fail

Finally:

The Valley, Aussie

1 combo at 10% Stake =$4.80

Success. paying $29.50

Starting Bankroll = $190

End of betting = $161

10 Race Meeting

Race 1, 6 horse field so passed on it. But did put $1 on longshot to win,

They do come in sometimes but not this time.

Race 2, Secret Trifecta formula.

Wagered $12 for a 10% stake on 120 combinations.

Successful outcome.

Paying $300.? for 100% bet.

My return, $30.20.

$18.20 profit.

8 more races to go but using strict disciplinary protocol, I’ll no more be betting.

6/3/21

Awapuni and Wingatui

Alternate between two race meetings.

Having done the handicapping and wagering costs, was unable to put bets on.

Following is the “what if”.

Utilising my secret “Trifecta with a Twist”, and 10% wagering.

Race 1, Awapuni 7 horse field so passed this race.

Race 1 and 2, Wingatui, Fails

Race 2, Awapuni, Fail

Race 3, Wingatui, Fail

Race 3, Awapuni, Fail

Race 4, Wingatui, Success

Total wagered for all races at 10% = $38

Race 4 payout at 10% = $212

27/2/21

Race 1 to 4 Fails

Race 5 Win, 13% wager

End of Betting

21/2/21

Hastings

Race 7

Chose this race for its’ endurance prospects. 2100mtrs.

My thinking was, the longer the race, the more tiring on the favourites to keep up a fast pace, thereby allowing slower horses with good endurance to come to the closing positions.

Tried my previous betting method utilising, 2 First fours, 4 trifectas.

Hence fourth, requiring five of the eight possible winning combinations.

Percentage stake for total bets = $28

Wouldn’t you know it?

One of the other three not used combinations came in.

20/2/21

Invercargill

Race 7

Utilising my ‘Keyed Trifecta with a Twist’ method, I upped my game by staking a First 4 bet. With the extra place I suppose it could be called ‘Keyed First 4 with a Twist Twist’.

This required two bets to cover the fourth position.

Not withstanding this, I Hedged my bet with four ‘Keyed Trifecta with a Twist’ bets.

The original field size being 13 runners.

1 scratched

3 chosen rejects

Field size now 9

Total cost using percentage betting $83

One reject placed third thereby destroying all bets.

Try one more, Harness race using my preferred staking method when I first started Betting.

$3 on the 1st Fav to win, paying $2.70

$10 on the 2nd Fav to place, paying $1.60

The 2nd Fav came in paying $16 for a $3 profit.

Te Aroha

Race 5

Done the Handicapping to make my selections using my “Keyed Trifecta with a Twist”.

Decided to utilise four of the 8 possible combinations (not revealing them here).

Using 5% wager on all four.

Due to work commitments, I was unable to place these bets.

Murphy’s Law being what it is, one of the combinations come in.

A long shot came first with none of the Bookies Favs in the top three placings.

Trifecta payed, $5,600

Wager covering all four combinations at 5%, $42

Winning combo would have payed, $280

Less initial wager, $42

Equals $238 profit.

30/1/21

Riccarton Park and Trentham

Started with $20 bankroll.

Too tight to load more to the account.

Used Percentage betting to string the Bankroll out.

Did not stick to my Trifecta Betting Strategy.

If I had the outcome would have been wonderful.

Account balance now Zero.

Race 5 Riccarton Park, An longshot paying $49 to win came home first resulting in a Trifecta payout of $16,857.

Even at a 10% wager I would have been very happy.

Another “DAMN” moment.
